Ethical Consultancy

Ethos Forensics was established in 2011 by forensic scientist, Sue Carney-Gannon. Previously employed by the former UK Forensic Science Service, Sue established Ethos Forensics with the aim of providing independent, ethically-driven forensic science consultancy to Defence Counsel.

Sue’s expert areas include DNA, DNA mixtures, body fluids, blood pattern analysis, and fabric damage. She has dealt with many hundreds of cases involving crimes against the person, in UK and international jurisdictions, and has given expert testimony in Crown Court on numerous occasions. She was awarded chartered status by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences in 2019.

Sue has lectured in forensic science at a variety of UK universities, authored text book chapters on Forensic Science in Sexual Offences, DNA Profiling, and Blood Pattern Analysis, and consulted on matters of quality and accreditation for forensic service providers.
